Hello all, happy fall!! I really try not to fall into trends, but sometimes there are
things out there that are just too cute to resist. Like the latest, OWL craze. They are
too adorable. I had to make something with owls. So, let me introduce you to this
sweet, little family, The Owl Family: Happiness, Bliss, Dream, and Rock & Roll.
First, we have Happiness Owl, she is always there to cheer you up!
Then there’s Bliss, if you ask her, she will tell you “Life is utterly fantabulous!”
Next is Dream Owl, she has big, big plans!
Last, but certainly not least is Rock & Roll, the rebel, but the most fun!
I started out with four 6X6, deep edge canvas.
I applied scraps of pretty paper, rather randomly, with Mod Podge.
Next, I added some paint. I tried getting some drippy, runny action going here.
Then I got crazy with some new stamps that I bought. Thank goodness for the
Hobby Lobby and Michael’s 40% off coupon. I also embossed some white chevrons
patterns on.
I tore out and cut some owl bodies, wings, and eyes. Needs some umph, wouldn’t
you say?
Each owl has gadgets for eyes. I also tried modeling paste for the first time. All
the sticky-out parts add terrific dimension.
I doodled with a black sharpie and added some more stamps. Their names are stamped
on old sewing pattern paper. I had a good time mixing up the fonts.
I LOVE the antique stamp collection I’ve got
going. I am such a font person and these are heavenly! 
Here is my awkward corner turned comfy reading nook. The ladder is a perfect
perch for some owls I’ve gathered. My wonderful, talented Honey shaved the end
off an old door I had aged out to create the high shelf. He has quit asking, “Why?” and
just goes with the flow now:) I am one truly lucky girl he is so smart and handy!
I’m thinking of some really cheesy owl lines right now to end this, but I’ll refrain. I’m sure y’all can come up with your own.
