Another Lampshade

Ever since I can remember, I have always had a night light. Not sure where my fear of the dark comes from, but I seriously can not help my crazily vivid imagination.  It’s pretty funny I guess, that a 40ish year old woman still races from the bathroom to jump into bed because of the “monster” that might get me (not sure if it’s living under the bed or in the bathroom mirror:). The bedroom is the only place there’s not a little light on constantly, that’s only because of Honey. He says he’ll protect me.

Throughout the house there are lights any where there is room for one. Right now, sitting on my living room couch, I have 11 on. They’re all small and low wattage, making it all cozy and sparkly. Plus, the soft light is a friend to my “more experienced” skin.

The latest creation found a home on the mantel. It’s kind of a hodge podge of things you wouldn’t expect to see being used on a makeover.

I painted the base white (surprise surprise), painted the numbers brown, kinda makes them look more metal-like. I found these crystal candle toppers really cheap and knew I’d use those crystals on something sooner or later. I hung them on the ends of chain from a broken necklace with the numbers and a couple of gears from the scrapbook department on the other end, then hung them across the shade in varying lengths. Cute!

I am loving the bird cloche on top of the small, rusty bundt pan. How about those sweet, little birdies in the window box? Here’s how it started:

I had to take out those vases, no offense whoever put them there. I had been picking up cheap cheep little birds here and there out junkin’. The pedestals have been helping out around this house for years.

I LOVE this little bird, so sweet!

Complete! I have so many more things I’ve finished, my blog has been having technical difficulties, so I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. But that’ll have to wait. We have all our kids coming in this weekend for a camping trip! Time to pack for all 8 of us!

Have a fabulous morning, afternoon, or evening, whatever the case may be!
